Calcium formate
Declared content (%w/w):
42% Water-soluble Calcium Oxide (CaO)
67% Formate
Fertilizer rich in calcium in the form of soluble powder, indicated to avoid fruit cracking, apical rot, bitter pit and improve its quality, firmness, consistency and post-harvest life. For the treatment of fruits its use is recommended from fruit set to harvest; In green leafy vegetables and to prevent foliar necrosis, it is recommended to start treatments from the beginning of the development of the head. This product, in addition to providing totally soluble and assimilable calcium, provides formate ion, which contributes to its solubility, to the regulation of the pH of the solution and its conservation.
Appearance = White powder
pH (10% solution) = 6.5-7.5
The number of applications varies significantly depending on the crop. It is recommended to follow a technical criterion based on soil and foliar analysis, as well as having specific knowledge of the crop. The doses to be used per application are shown in the following table:
Fertigation | Moment | |
Horticultural | 4-8 kg/ha | 4-8 treatments, from flowering to color change |
Horticultural green leaf | 3-7 kg/ha | 2-4 treatments per crop cycle |
Citric, fruit trees and grapevine | 2-6 kg/ha | 2-6 applications, from winter release to fruit set |
Strawberry and berries | 3-7 kg/ha | 3-5 treatments, after the appearance of the first flowers |
The amount of water used directly affects the effectiveness of the product: use a minimum of 500 l / ha.
In case of hydroponic crops, prepare a concentration mother solution between 6-10% (according to water quality).
A generic foliar dose of 250-500 g / hl can be established; the timing and the number of applications must be decided according to agronomic criteria.
Note: These recommendations are general and indicative, and must be adapted by a qualified technician based on agronomic and edaphoclimatic factors.
